Where we work
Sri Lanka is home ground; the work reaches across Europe, Africa and Asia.
Sri LankaKalutara sand spit reconstruction
A modelling study to inform decision makers on how best to reconstruct the Kalutara sand spit, which disintegrated after ad hoc artificial breaching during high river flow in 2017, exposing low-lying development behind it. The work advances sand spit rehabilitation modelling techniques that can be applied to similar natural or artificial breaches elsewhere.

Sri LankaNation-wide coastline recession and beach loss projections
A nation-wide assessment of short-term (2050) and long-term (2100) coastline recession and beach loss along the Sri Lankan coast — the response of coastlines to sea-level rise being of major importance to policy makers.
View project →Climate Change Impact Assessment — Rupingazi Small Hydropower Project
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)A comprehensive climate change impact assessment for the Rupingazi Small Hydropower Project (SHPP) in Embu County, Kenya, carried out as part of a UNDP assignment. The assessment evaluated how future climate change could influence the project's hydrology, water availability and long-term electricity generation.
View project →Climate Change and Hydrological Assessment — Mpulungu Small Hydropower Project
A climate change and hydrological assessment for the Mpulungu Small Hydropower Project (SHPP) in Zambia, focused on how future climate conditions affect water availability and hydropower generation. Climate projections were integrated with hydrological and energy-generation assessments to evaluate long-term scheme performance.
